Parents & Friends

Every parent and legal guardian is automatically a member of St. Mark's P&F.   Other members of the church or community may also join. Parent's and Friends is the organization that enables our community to come together to support the long-term mission of the school, through time, talent, and treasure!

St. Mark's encourages every parent and guardian to volunteer this year and share their unique skills and talents with our community.  In fact, we would like every parent and guardian to consider giving at least 10 hours of time this year.   We have a goal of 100% engagement.  When children see their parents giving of time, talent, and treasure, they learn to become more servant-hearted and more civic-minded.

P&F's role is to strengthen the long-term mission of the school by organizing fundraising events to supplement the school's operational funds and contribute to long-term fundraising.  In 2021 P&F raised enough money to fully fund our STEAM teacher and many of the new marine science resources.  In 2022 the School Board established and provided the initial funding for a school endowment, so that in the future, the earnings of the endowment can lessen the need for annual fundraising.

In addition to fundraising, P&F members: 

• volunteer during PE, 

• help out in the library, 

• serve as room parents, 

• organize special gifts and appreciation for teachers, 

• lead and provide direction to students in grades 4-6 as they create and design the school yearbook,

• support work with school partner organizations such as RiverKids, and 

• help organize multiple special events and traditions throughout the school year in order to strengthen our sense of community.
